BECKY L. VEGTER, 59, of 108 Prospect Street, Morrison, IL, died Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center South, Clinton, IA, after several years battling MS and cancer. Becky was born September 29, 1952 in Morrison, IL to Charles J. and Helen M. (Lawton) Birely. She was educated in the Morrison Grade Schools and was a 1970 graduate of Morrison High School. Becky married Richard D. Vegter on June 18, 1984 in Las Vegas, NV. She was first employed by General Electric in Morrison, then by the former Crow’s Nest Tavern in Lyndon, and then the former Spot Tavern in Morrison. Becky was a member of the Irish Setter Dog Club of Greater Davenport, IA and the Flat Coated Retriever Club of American and the Tri-City Kennel Club of Davenport, IA. Becky loved her dogs and enjoyed showing dogs and participated in numerous dog shows. She and Richard raised and trained flat coated retrievers and golden retrievers. Survivors include her husband Richard of Morrison, IL; one sister, Jo Heller of Morrison, IL; one niece, Michelle Heller of Muscatine, IA; one nephew, Mark Heller of Des Plaines, IL; one aunt, Catherine Wells of Morrison, IL; and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and one special aunt, Evelyn Donahue. Funeral Information
