VERNON E. TICHLER, 66, of 13204 Crosby Road, Morrison, IL, died Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center North, Clinton, IA. Vernon was born November 30, 1945 in Morrison, IL to Donald L. and Esther B. (Huizenga) Tichler. He was educated in the McAllister grade school in rural Morrison and graduated from Morrison High School in 1963. He graduated from Illinois State University in Normal, IL and received his Master’s degree from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, IL. Vernon married Barbara Anderson on December 19, 1970 in Morrison. He taught at Morrison School District Unit #6 as a Special Ed Teacher for 35 years, retiring in 2000. Vernon enjoyed farming and had a very good sense of humor. He was the founder of Windmill Weddings Photography. Survivors include his wife, Barb; one daughter, Elizabeth Tichler of Dillon, CO; one son, Don (Elisha O’Neal) Tichler of Morrison, IL; two grandchildren, Cody Tichler and Collin Roberts; one sister, Donna (Rod) McCanse of Dowagiac, MI; one brother, Gary (Ruth) Tichler of Morrison, IL.
