RACHEL D. NICE, 94, of Resthave Nursing Home, Morrison, IL, died Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at the nursing home. Rachel was born July 9, 1917 in Morrison, IL to Abner A. and Esther S. (Deter) Nice. She was educated in the Morrison Grade Schools and graduated from the Hesston Acadamy by correspondence. She received her RN nursing diploma from the Jane Lamb Nursing School in Clinton, IA in 1950. Rachel worked as an RN at Morrison Community Hospital and then worked for Dr. Isaac Vandermyde and Dr. Richard Vandermyde for many years. Rachel retired from her nursing career to take care of her elderly parents and other family members. She was a member of the Morrison Mennonite Church and regularly attended the Brethren in Christ Church in Morrison. Rachel enjoyed gardening, reading, and traveling, having traveled to Canada, Egypt, Israel, and Colorado. Survivors include many nieces and nephews. She ws preceded in death by two sisters, Beulah Nice and Hazel Nice Hassan; two brothers, Cecil Nice and Aaron Nice. Funeral Information
